Accessibility statement

This site targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA and Section 508. Everything below describes a test that runs on every change rather than an intention, because an inaccessible page is a page a federal buyer cannot procure.

Our commitment

VSI Technologies builds this site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at Level AA, and to the Revised Section 508 standards. Accessibility is enforced as a build requirement, not addressed as a remediation phase: a change that introduces a violation does not reach production.

How that is enforced

Four things run automatically, and all four fail the build rather than warn:

  • axe-core on every route, against the WCAG 2.0, 2.1 and 2.2 A and AA rule sets plus best-practice rules. Any violation fails.
  • Colour contrast asserted for every token pair in the design system, in both the light and dark bands, 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and interface components.
  • Focus indicator tested against every ground it appears on. The indicator changes colour on dark sections because the light-ground colour does not clear 3:1 there; both variants are asserted.
  • Reduced motion respected. All animation is transform and opacity only, and is disabled entirely when a visitor prefers reduced motion. No content requires motion to reach.

Automated testing detects roughly a third of accessibility failures. A manual keyboard traversal and screen-reader pass, NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS, is performed before each release and recorded with the tester's name and date.

Specific measures on this site

  • Navigation works without JavaScript. The menus are native disclosure elements, so they are keyboard-operable and correctly announced, which also means they work on a locked-down workstation.
  • One h1 per page, correct heading order, and landmark regions throughout.
  • Body text is capped at 68 characters per line, and the base size is 17px at a 1.6 line height.
  • No autoplaying content with sound. Background video carries no audio track at all, stripped at encode time rather than muted, and does not load for visitors who prefer reduced motion or have data saving enabled.
  • Forms have labelled fields, programmatic hints, and native validation. Nothing depends on placeholder text as a label.
  • Decorative images carry empty alternative text; the federal capability pages are also tested in print, because a contracting officer prints them.

Conformance status

Formal conformance: report in preparation. The Accessibility Conformance Report is completed and signed before launch; until it is signed, this page describes the enforced measures rather than asserting a conformance level.

Third-party content

Some functionality relies on third parties, booking runs on Microsoft Bookings, and the two storefronts are separate platforms. We do not control the accessibility of those services. Where one presents a barrier, tell us and we will provide the same outcome by another route, including by phone.

Reporting a barrier

If any part of this site is not usable for you, that is a defect and we would like to know about it. Write to info@vsitechnologies.com, or call the published number on the contact page. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology you were using if that is relevant. We aim to respond within two business days.
